Choose a writing workflow before a writing subscription

A drafting assistant, a research process, and a publishing platform do different jobs. Start with one repeatable piece of writing, decide what evidence and editing it needs, and only then compare tools. Older model and plan comparisons on this page are starting points; confirm current features and terms with the providers before purchasing.

What to compare before choosing

  • Start with the deliverable: a researched article, marketing email, outline or edit needs different source checks and approval steps.
  • Give each candidate the same short sample, factual sources and revision brief; review accuracy, voice, editing effort and export before comparing headline speed.
  • Check the current provider policy before entering unpublished client material, personal data or confidential drafts.
  • Keep source verification and final editorial approval with a person; fluent prose is not evidence that a factual claim is true.
  • Compare the cost of the plan needed for the actual workflow, including collaboration and usage limits, using the provider’s current terms.
